Reentry Staff & Programs

  • Nearly 6,000 KDOC residents reenter our communities each year. Reentry staff and partners work directly with the programs and services that support each individual on their pathway to success.

  • Reentry staff work with residents to develop a plan for release

    • This includes housing, behavioral health care, family services, survival items, transportation, community identification, and employment

    • Help residents secure employment that pays a livable wage

  • Provide specialized cognitive behavioral interventions

    • Develop skills that decrease antisocial thinking and destructive behaviors

We partner with Substance Abuse Centers of Kansas (SACK), Cowley College, KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers, and others to provide some of this programming for residents.

In July of 2022, members of the GED class earned their Kansas State High School Diploma! Residents and classmates attended the graduation held at WCF. We additional celebrated seven graduates with Carpentry/Construction Certificates, 10 residents with certificates in Electromechanical Maintenances, and 14 residents who graduated from the Craft Skills course. We are proud of the accomplishments these men have made!
